The Pilates Power Gym is a total-body workout machine meant for home use. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that you do muscle-strengthening activities such as Pilates and resistance-band training at least two days a week. The Pilates Power Gym comes with one DVD that guides you through strength-training maneuvers, but you can purchase a second DVD that features workouts specific to this machine from the company.
Identification
The accessory DVD package available for the Pilates Power Gym is called the "Pilates Workout and Strength Training Workout." This DVD has two instructional videos designed to go with the Pilates Power machine, which includes a large glide board, a push-up bar, ankle/wrist straps and leg extension bands. Throughout the DVD, you will use various settings on the machine, which has four height adjustments, along with three glide board settings.
'Pilates Power Workout'
The "Pilates Power Workout" DVD is a 42-minute instructional video that has step-by-step routines you can follow. These focus on increasing flexibility, creating long and lean muscles, core strengthening and losing fat, according to the Pilates Power Gym website. You will do moves such as arm circles, triceps overhead presses, seated low rows, leg circles and the bridge. The workout targets both the upper and the lower body, in addition to your core.
'Pilates Strength Training Workout'
The "Pilates Strength Training Workout" DVD is a 33-minute session that focuses on muscle building. This is a full-body workout. Exercises include cable crossovers, bent-over rows, hack squats, chest presses, seated calf raises, one-legged squats and lunges.
'Marlo Fisken's 2-in-1 Pilates Power Gym'
The workout DVD that comes with Pilates Power Gym is "Marlo Fisken's 2-in-1 Pilates Power Gym." This DVD features a total-body workout based on standard Pilates moves, such as hundreds for your abs, arms and shoulders. It also includes muscle-building moves like bicep curls and leg presses. The second workout in this package focuses on muscle-building. You will do squats, bridges and triceps presses. You will use higher resistance in many of these exercises than in other workout routines created for Pilates Power Gym. If you lose this DVD, you can purchase a new one separately.
