The high energy workouts of Core Rhythms Latin Dance exercise are designed to burn fat while sculpting your core and other areas. International dance champions Jaana Kunitz and Julia Powers created a DVD series that has received good reviews from "Fitness" magazine and the Better Body Journal website. Before you start this or any other exercise program, talk with your physician.
Having Fun Exercising
Upbeat Latin dance moves such as salsa, cha-cha and merengue keep you smiling and make Core Rhythms exercise more fun than a regular workout, Savannah Duncan writes in "Fitness." Core Rhythms workouts begin with a warm-up of several minutes. The dance workout follows, and then there's a cool-down.
For Beginners
The Kick Start DVD gives instruction in three basic dance moves to prepare you for the other workout DVDs. Duncan says these moves are easy to follow, with options of flipping the image to have instructors face away from you and watching each move in slow motion.
The Downside
Without using the Kick Start DVD to learn the three basic steps, you might have a tough time following the moves in subsequent DVDs. Latin Synergy gives an overall cardio and fat-burning workout. Others in the series target specific areas for sculpting and burning fat.
