How to Use the Ab Slide Correctly

The Ab Slide is a small exercise machine manufactured by Sylmark, Inc. It is lightweight, portable and simple to use. It consists mainly of a body made out of plastic with wheels enclosed on the underside. It also has two metal bars with padding that easily snap into place. The Ab Slide tones and strengthens your upper and lower abdominal muscles, back, chest and arms, shoulders and waistline when used correctly.

Step 1

Inspect your Ab Slide and make sure the wheels are in place and the handles are connected and tight. This will prevent any accidents from happening during your exercise routine.

Step 2

Decide what type of workout you want to do with your Ab Slide. If you want an extra hard workout, use it on a carpet. If you want a smooth, less strenuous workout, use it on a hard surface.

Step 3

Wear the knee pads that came with the Ab Slide upon purchase. If you don't have the knee pads, you can lay a small pillow or yoga mat on the floor.

Step 4

Get on your knees and grab the handles of the Ab Slide. Raise your buttocks and go forward as far as you can, but do not overextend yourself so that you have difficulty getting back up. Once you are at the extended position, roll back up using your abdominal muscles.

Step 5

Perform 20 repetitions to complete one set. Increase the repetitions once you feel your abdominal muscles have strengthened.

Step 6

Use your Ab Slide every other day, allowing your abdominal muscles to rest in between exercise routine. Alternate those days with high-impact cardiovascular workouts such as running, swimming, bicycling or aerobics. Doing this helps develop abdominal muscles quicker.
