How to Lose My Belly Fat in 2 Months

The belly is one of the most stubborn areas on the body when it comes to losing weight. But you don't have to deal with difficult belly fat lying down. In fact, you can battle the bulge in just two months and you won't even have to rely on unhealthy or drastic measures. All you need is to make a few changes to how you eat and exercise, and you'll experience a change in how your entire body looks, including your midsection.

Month 1

Step 1

Toss out junk food and soda in your home. Anything high in sugar, fat, cholesterol or salt should hit the trash can. By getting rid of these foods, they'll be out of sight and out of mind. Just make sure you don't buy these foods again when you go to the supermarket.

Step 2

Quit drinking alcoholic beverages or at most have no more than one beverage a day. Alcohol is high in calories and merely adds empty calories to your diet, rather than ones derived from nutritious sources. Cut it out of your diet and you'll reduce your daily caloric intake, making it easier for you to shed pounds.

Step 3

Perform cardiovascular exercise at least four times a week. Whatever sort of activity you enjoy will work, whether it's running, jogging, swimming, doing aerobics or dancing. So long as you get your heart rate up for 30 consecutive minutes four times a week, you'll burn calories and fat.

Step 4

Tone your abdomen with strengthening exercises like sit-ups and crunches. Repeat these exercises at least four times a week to bring definition to your belly and decrease the look of fat.

Month 2

Step 1

Increase the duration of your workouts. After four weeks of 30-minute workouts, lengthen the amount of time you exercise to 45 minutes. The added 15 minutes will burn more calories and help to keep the workout challenging.

Step 2

Eat more vegetables and fruits throughout the day. Add a serving of vegetables to each meal, and eat fruit as snacks. You can even cut up fruits and veggies to take with you to snack on when you go to a park, the beach or even the movies. Insert produce into your diet any way you can, and you'll consume fewer calories each day yet still feel full.

Step 3

Increase how much water you drink to at least eight 8-oz. glasses a day. Keeping hydrated will flush out your digestive system and prevent bloating, which can contribute to the look of belly fat.

Step 4

Do Pilates to strengthen your core muscles. These exercises will improve your posture, which helps you suck in your belly and get rid of any pooch or bloated belly look.
