Although a celebrity might have been given good or unusual looks, they rely on diet and exercise routines to maintain a fit and healthful appearance. Celebrities often have access to the best trainers and dietitians practicing the latest techniques and fitness crazes. By taking their celebrity tips, you can mimic their efforts and success at home.

Use a Stability Ball to Tone

Stability balls were once strictly physical therapy devices. Now stars such as Jessica Simpson use the stability ball -- a large, oversize plastic ball -- to tone her legs and butt. Place the ball behind your back against a wall, and squat down as the ball supports your back.

Take a Resistance Band on the Go

Celebrities are always traveling, making staying fit a challenge. Actress Julia Roberts says she takes a resistance band with her on the road. This packable, plastic band creates the resistance of a dumbbell without the heavy suitcase. Roberts uses her band to perform exercises such as biceps curls, shoulder raises and lateral raises.

Learn from Macrobiotics

Madonna has a strict diet and exercise regimen. She follows a macrobiotic diet, which is composed of organic, whole foods. While you may not be able to follow Madonna's diet to the letter, you can take some lessons, such as eating whole grains over refined grains, eating animal-based proteins like soy products or shunning sugary additives in favor of natural sweeteners like maple syrup.

Try Healthy Sweet Treats

Jessica Alba says she has a family history of high blood pressure and cholesterol, so she knows she has to eat as healthfully as possible. Instead of sugary desserts, she satisfies her sweet tooth with dried fruits or frozen yogurt in flavors like chocolate and strawberry. She also resists temptations by eating plenty of flavorful, filling foods like lean proteins, fruits and vegetables.

Dress Up Your Water

Drinking plenty of water can help to flush toxins from your body and help you avoid eating when you are actually thirsty. However, if you don't favor the taste of plain water, news anchor Diane Sawyer offers this tip: Cut up lime slices and place them in your ice cube tray. When you put the cubes in your water, your water will be refreshingly lime-flavored.
