How to Remove Wrinkles From Under The Eyes

Creases or folds that appear on your skin are called wrinkles. They are commonly found around your mouth and eyes. The most common causes of wrinkles are natural aging and overexposure to the sun's potent ultraviolet rays. Wrinkles, especially eye wrinkles, affect both women and men and can make you appear old, especially if you have plenty of them and they are noticeable. If you've got wrinkles under your eyes, you would probably like them to go away.

Step 1

Use a gentle exfoliating eye cream that has 1 percent glycolic acid under your eyes. Creams such as Renewal System Eye Cream, Elite Serum, Dermavexin and others contain ingredients that are specific for the delicate skin surrounding your eyes. These creams hydrate and gently exfoliate the skin around your eyes to lift and firm skin. Proper usage will remove wrinkles around your eyes in about 1 to 2 months.

Step 2

Apply a homemade remedy using natural ingredients such as green tea. This tea is rich in antioxidants, which can help replenish skin cells, combat free radicals around the eye areas and gradually remove wrinkles around the eyes in about 3 to 4 months, when used daily. Wet the green tea bag and place it in the freezer for one hour. Place the cold tea bags on your eyes and leave on for 30 minutes.

Step 3

Get a Botox injection to remove the wrinkles around your eyes. This procedure is performed by a dermatologist. It involves injecting a small amount of inactivated botulinum toxin under the skin around your eyes to plump up the skin, eliminating the wrinkles. The effect usually lasts 6 to 8 months. You will be told to come back for another injection, if you want.

Step 4

Consider laser resurfacing. This medical procedure is carried out by a licensed dermatologist. The physician uses a carbon dioxide laser to precisely remove wrinkled skin, layer by layer. Your skin will heal in about 2 to 3 days. Since laser resurfacing is not a permanent solution, you may want to come back 2 to 3 years later for another treatment.

Step 5

Apply sunblock lotion to the skin around your eyes when undergoing any or all of the above treatments. Applying sunblock will prevent new wrinkles from forming and will help moisturize existing ones. Use sunblock with an SPF (sun protection factor) of 60 and above 30 minutes prior to sun exposure.
