Vitamins
Centrum Silver contains ascorbic acid, dl-alpha tocopheryl acetate, beta carotene, biotin, folic acid, cholecalciferol, cyanocobalamin, lutein, lycopene, niacinamide, phytonadione, pyridoxine hydrochloride, riboflavin and thiamine mononitrate. These ingredients impart 2500 IU of vitamin A, 60 mg of vitamin C, 500 IU of vitamin D, 50 IU of vitamin E and 30 mcg of vitamin K. The multivitamin includes 1.5 mg of thiamine, 1.7 mg of riboflavin, 20 mg of niacin, 3 mg of vitamin B-6, 400 mcg of folic acid, 25 mcg of vitamin B-12, 30 mcg of biotin and 10 mg pantothenic acid. Vitamin B-12 is particularly helpful for memory. Centrum Silver also contains 250 mcg of lutein and 300 mcg of lycopene. Lycopene is found in red fruits and vegetables and is particularly helpful for prostate health.
Minerals
Minerals included in Centrum Silver multivitamins include calcium carbonate, potassium chloride, magnesium oxide, dibasic calcium phosphate, chromium picolinate, manganese sulfate, nickelous sulfate, potassium iodide, sodium benzoate, sodium borate, sodium citrate, sodium metavanadate, sodium molybdate and sodium selenate. Calcium helps maintain the bones and helps prevent bone loss that occurs with aging. Centrum Silver has 220 mg of calcium, 20 mg of phosphorus, 150 mcg of iodine, 50 mg of magnesium, 11 mg of zinc, 55 mcg of selenium, 0.5 mg of copper, 2.3 mg of manganese, 45 mcg of chromium, 45 mcg of molybdenum, 72 mg of chloride and 80 mg of potassium. Centrum Silver also contains 150 mcg of boron, 5 mcg of nickel, 2 mg of silicon and 10 mcg of vanadium.
Coloring
Centrum Silver contains several artificial colors. These include FD&C blue number 2, FD&C red number 40 and FD&C yellow number 6. Some individuals may be sensitive to artificial coloring. Talk with your doctor if you suspect sensitivity to artificial coloring.
Other Ingredients
Centrum Silver vitamins also contain a number of additives and stabilizers to help maintain the consistency and stability of the product. Microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, gelatin, hydrogenated palm oil, talc and sunflower oil are all added with the vitamins and minerals to produce the finished product.
