Gloves are a vital protective layer in a lacrosse uniform. Without them, you risk injured hands and fingers, and you won't be able to keep a good grip on the lacrosse stick if your hands are broken. The gloves need to cover your entire hand and arm right up to your arm pads, which means you must already have properly fitted arm pads in order to find the right size of glove. Manufacturers list gloves sizes in inches, centimeters and letter sizes such as S for small.
Step 1
Put on your arm pads.
Step 2
Measure the length of your arm from the lower end of the arm pad to your fingertips.
Step 3
Convert the measurement to centimeters if needed, or to a letter size depending on the particular gloves you want to buy. Manufacturers vary in how they label the sizes of their gloves, so you'll need to check the sizing charts from the manufacturer of your choice.
Tips and Warnings
- In general, a small is around 9-10 inches and an extra-small about 8 inches. Mediums can range from 11-13 inches, and a large can start at either 13 or 14 inches and go to 15 inches. Past that, the size would technically be an extra-large, but Lacrosse.com notes that a large may be the biggest size you'll be able to find. If you're stuck between sizes, such as 10 1/2 inches, buy the larger size.
