Wendy's offers a wide range of low-calorie and nutritious meal options including salads, fruits and snack wraps. Their new snack wraps can be a good source of protein when eaten alone or with a meal. Snack wraps are chicken-based wraps which come in three varieties including homestyle spicy and grilled chicken.

Homestyle Chicken Wrap

Wendy's homestyle chicken wrap is made using breaded chicken breast, cheddar cheese and a zesty ranch sauce. The wrap contains 320 calories, 16 g total fat, 4.5 g saturated fat, 29 g carbohydrates and 15 g protein. One Wendy's homestyle wrap makes up approximately 16 percent of a 2,000-calorie diet. French fries can contribute an additional 300 to 500 calories, depending on the size.

Spicy Chicken Wrap

The spicy chicken wrap from Wendy's is essentially the same as the homestyle wrap, but with added spices in the chicken breading. Like the homestyle wrap, the spicy chicken wrap contains 320 calories, 16 g total fat, 4.5 g saturated fat, and 15 g protein. The spicy wrap provides slightly higher carbohydrates at 30 g per wrap, however both wraps contain only 1 g fiber.

Grilled Chicken Wrap

Perhaps the healthiest of the three, the Wendy's grilled chicken wrap contains only 260 calories, 10 g fat, 3.5 g saturated fat, 25 g carbohydrate and 20 g protein. Grilled chicken helps to decrease the sodium content of the wrap from over 800 mg down to 750 mg.

Nutrition Options

All three wrap varieties can make up nearly 15 percent of your daily calorie allotment. To help decrease their calorie and fat content, and improve their overall nutrition, try customizing your wrap. Both the zesty ranch and honey mustard sauces used on the wraps contain approximately 40 calories and 3.5 g fat. A grilled chicken wrap without honey mustard sauce provides only 220 calories. Simply omitting the cheddar cheese on the wraps can save nearly 114 calories and 9 g fat. Ask for low calorie or fat-free dipping sauces to help add flavor to your wrap without adding unwanted calories.
