How to Throw a Curve Ball With a Wiffle Ball

The open slits in a Wiffle ball's lightweight design allow the pitcher to throw a perfect curve ball without overexerting his arm by merely changing the way he is holding the ball. Depending on your grip, you can throw other pitches, such as a screwball, a knuckle ball and a sinker, in addition to the curve. Besides the proper grip, all you need to throw a good Wiffle ball pitch is speed.

Step 1

Grip the Wiffle ball between your index and middle fingers. The holes of the ball should be facing to the outside and your middle finger should be just the left of the holes on the seam of the ball.

Step 2

Place the thumb on the bottom of the ball between your index and middle fingers along the seam.

Step 3

Place your ring and pinky fingers together and place them against the center of the ball on top of the patent numbers.

Step 4

Throw the ball with an overhand motion as hard as you can and the ball should curve naturally.
