How to Tighten a Belt on a Proform 775 Treadmill

The ProForm 775 CrossTrainer is an in-home treadmill that includes strength training exercises in your cardio workout. The 775 has nine built-in workout programs that control the speed and incline for you and prompt you to step off the treadmill to perform different strength exercises. The treadmill has a top speed of 10 mph and a maximum incline of 10 percent. If the walking belt slips under your feet, the belt may need tightened. Test the tension first and then adjust the belt as needed.

Step 1

Lift the edge of the walking belt in the middle of the deck and measure the gap between the platform and where you are holding the belt. If it is more than 2 to 3 inches, the belt is too loose and you need to tighten it.

Step 2

Remove the safety key and unplug the treadmill.

Step 3

Use the hex key that came with the ProForm 775. Tighten the rear roller bolts in the end caps by turning each bolt to the right, 1/4 turn.

Step 4

Test the tension of the belt again as you did in step one.

Step 5

Tighten the bolts again if needed. Always check the tension of the belt after each adjustment.

Things You'll Need

  • Hex key
  • Ruler or measuring tape
