Lipoflavonoid is a dietary supplement made from the pigment of citrus fruits such as lemon used to treat tinnitus. According to the manufacturer, DSE Healthcare Solutions, Lipoflavonoid contains naringin, flavones, eriocitrin, hesperidin, naringinin and flavonols. Originally, Lipoflavonoid was known as bioflavonoid, and today, many people still use this name to describe the Lipoflavonoid product.
Tinnitus
The manufacturer recommends the use of Lipoflavonoid to treat tinnitus. Tinnitus is a symptom that normally manifests as ringing in the ear. However, tinnitus may also manifest as hissing, whirring or crackling that is either intermittent or constant. According to "Integrative Medicine," tinnitus has many potential causes but is commonly caused by poor micro-circulation to the inner ear. Other causes include stress, allergies, a vitamin B12 deficiency, sinus problems, Meniere´s disease, noise-induced cochlear damage and age-related hearing loss.
How Lipoflavonoid Works
According to DSE Healthcare Solutions, the citrus bioflavonoids in Lipoflavonoid support inner ear micro-circulation. This process reduces and eventually eliminates tinnitus. Lipoflavonoid contains eriocitrin, a glycoside that can function as an antihistamine. One of the causes of Meniere´s disease is histamine induction. Therefore, by taking Lipoflavonoid, symptoms of Meniere's disease, including tinnitus, typically disappear. Lipoflavonoid also contains several vitamins, including vitamin B12, that can alleviate the symptoms of tinnitus.
Regulation and Side Effects
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration does not regulate Lipoflavonoid, and currently available scientific studies do not confirm the claims made by the product's manufacturer. Side effects associated with Lipoflavonoid include bloody diarrhea, nausea, stomach pain and vomiting. If you experience any of these side effects, immediately discontinue use of Lipoflavonoid and seek medical attention. Lipoflavonoid does not have any known adverse interactions with other drugs or foods. The manufacturer recommends taking two Lipoflavonoid caplets three times a day, after a meal.
Considerations
According to the manufacturer, you can expect to see results after taking Lipoflavonoid daily for three to six months. When taking Lipoflavonoid, you should avoid soda, alcohol, chocolates, coffee, salty foods and nicotine as much possible. Additionally, you should avoid loud places. If you cannot avoid loud places, you should wear earplugs in loud situations.
