Instructions for Setting Up Aero Pilates Machines

An Aero Pilates machine is an in-home system made by Stamina Products, Inc. You can do Pilates and cardiovascular exercises on the Aero Pilates machine, which has four springs for additional resistance. When you are ready to work out on your Aero Pilates machine, you will need to set up the machine first. The setup includes selecting your resistance level, setting the rope length, adjusting the headrest, positioning the pulley posts and angling the foot bar.

Select Your Resistance

Step 1

Choose which of the four springs you want to use for the exercise you will do. You can select one or more of the springs.

Step 2

Pull the end of the springs and hook them onto the eye hooks.

Step 3

Pull the springs off the eye hooks to remove the resistance.

Adjust Rope Length

Step 1

Locate the plastic snap hooks at the end of the ropes. Each rope has a handle on one end and a plastic snap hook on the other. The rope loops runs through the pulleys then loops around the outer edge of the carriage.

Step 2

Attach the plastic snap hooks into loop "D," the loop farthest from the front of the machine, for the longest rope length.

Step 3

Thread the ropes around loop "D" and attach the plastic snap hooks into either loop "A", "B" or "C" if you want a shorter rope length.

Adjust the Headrest and Pulley Position

Step 1

Position the headrest in the desired position by rotating the support bracket behind the headrest. You can set the headrest flat or at an incline.

Step 2

Remove the adjustment knob and washer that hold the pulley assembly onto the pulley post.

Step 3

Slide the pulley assembly into the desired hole setting. Reattach the adjustment knob and washer.

Step 4

Repeat on the other side.

Adjust the Foot Bar

Step 1

Lift the foot bar. This pulls it out of the lock pin slot.

Step 2

Pivot the foot bar into the desired position. You can set it at one of three angles.

Step 3

Push the foot bar down until it locks into place.

Tips and Warnings

  • Make sure that the foot bar is securely locked in place before using the machine. If you are standing on the Aero Pilates machine with one foot on the wooden platform, position the foot bar in the forward position -- angled towards the wooden platform. Consult your Aero Pilates owner's manual for set up directions. Each model may have slightly different features and instructions.
  • If you are moving your Aero Piltes machine, attach one of the resistance springs to an eye hook to keep the slide board from moving. Before using the machine, make sure the plastic snap hooks are secure and the adjustment knobs on the pulley sets are tight.
