Yoga straps are props that are used during your yoga practice. Straps allow you to increase resistance or move into poses that you would not otherwise be able. Yoga straps also let you extend your reach during stretches or go deeper into a pose. Though a simple tool, some can find yoga straps difficult to thread and adjust to the right lengths. A little practice goes a long way and once you get the hang of it, you can easily include yoga straps in your practice. Yoga straps come with either plastic or metal buckles; however, the threading motion is the same for both.
Step 1
Unwind the yoga strap so that it is free of tangles or knots.
Step 2
Take hold of an end of the strap in each hand.
Step 3
Notice the two holes on the plastic buckle; one will be larger than the other. Place the capped end through the larger of the two holes; the strap should now be in a large loop-shape.
Step 4
Pull the capped end through the hole and thread it into the smaller hole. The strap should now be secure while in a loop.
Step 5
Continue to feed the strap through the larger hole and then through the smaller hole until you reach the sized loop and tension that you need.
