User Guide for a Proform 995 SEL Treadmill

The ProForm 995 SEL is a foldaway treadmill for in-home use. The belt speed and power incline ramp are adjustable using the buttons on the console so you can easily change the intensity of your workout. Use the built-in programs and the iFit.com technology to add instant variety to your workouts.

Features

The ProForm 995 SEL has a tethered safety clip that the American College of Sports Medicine deems "a safety must." Attach the clip to your clothes and insert the safety key, which is on the other end of the strap, into the console. If you are not able to keep up with the walking belt or you slip and fall back, the strap pulls the safety key out of the console and automatically stops the walking belt.

Manual Mode

You can use the ProForm 995 SEL in manual or program mode. Manual mode allows you to control every aspect of your workout. You follow your progress by watching the feedback on the console display, which includes calories, speed, time and distance. Press the "Start" button to initiate the manual mode, then use the console buttons to adjust the incline and speed throughout your workout. When you are done, press the "Stop" button to complete your workout.

Programming Mode

The programming mode allows you to select one of eight built-in workout programs that automatically adjust the speed and incline for you. These workouts offer variety and extra motivation since you don't have to design your own workout. The console displays the profiles for each workout. The numbers beside each profile indicate the maximum speed and incline setting the treadmill will select for that workout. The 995 SEL divides each workout into several periods and assigns an incline and speed for each period. Override any setting by using the control buttons on the console.

iFit.com Technology

Use the iFit.com technology on your ProForm 995 SEL to get more workouts and programs. Connect the treadmill to your computer or stereo and purchase iFit.com workout CDs. Each CD has two workouts. A virtual personal trainer provides motivation and guidance while the treadmill automatically adjusts your incline and speed settings. The CDs include music in the background. You can also go to the iFit.com website to download workouts and track your progress.
