The foods you eat on a regular basis can help you target your weight loss. Specific foods contain nutrients that can help to alter your body composition and even burn fat off your tummy. Choosing to incorporate these foods into your diet can help you achieve a slim midsection in a faster amount of time when also combined with regular exercise.
Olive Oil
Adding olive oil to your foods like eggs, pasta and even on salads can help promote abdominal fat loss. The March 2007 issue of the "Journal of Diabetes Care" explains that eating monounsaturated fats, like olive oil, during most meals of your day will help promote fat burning, especially in the midsection. Monounsaturated fats increase your basal metabolic rate and help you to burn more calories and even fat throughout your day.
Green Tea
Sipping on green tea throughout your day can also help with fat burning. The University of Maryland Medical Center explains that green tea may boost metabolism and help burn fat because of the caffeine and catechins found in the tea. This combination can improve weight loss and is responsible for the fat burning effect. Choose to drink unsweetened green tea for the best chance at burning fat.
Oatmeal
Oatmeal is a healthy way to start your day and to help banish belly fat. Pennsylvania State University completed a study that followed participants for 12 weeks. This study was created to find a link between whole grain consumption and weight loss. The January 2008 issue of the "American Journal of Clinical Nutrition" published the study indicating that people who ate whole grains had a greater fat loss from the stomach compared with those not eating whole grains.
Almonds
Almonds aid in belly fat reduction because they contain monounsaturated fats, which promote a faster metabolism. Adding almonds as a snack or even onto your salads can boost your fat burning. Monitor your serving of almonds because, although they are a healthy snack, they can add up in calories fast. Choose to have one serving per day to increase your fat-burning potential.
