CrossFit is a general strength and conditioning program that combines weightlifting exercises, bodyweight movements and metabolic conditioning into the workouts for a well-rounded fitness program. CrossFit affiliate gyms are opening around the world as more people become aware of the benefits of CrossFit for building fitness, increasing strength and power and promoting weight loss. One CrossFit affiliate gym is CrossFit Strong, located in Dallas, Texas. CrossFit Strong is an 18,500 square foot facility with members from all ages and ability levels working out together to build fitness and promote a healthy lifestyle and weight loss.
Step 1
Attend the daily workout sessions. CrossFit generally promotes training five to six days per week by mixing all of the exercises together in a systematic pattern. CrossFit Strong has workouts spread throughout the day from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. to accommodate your work and personal schedule. Commit to the CrossFit workouts at least four days per week for 60 minutes each day.
Step 2
Track your workouts. CrossFit Strong has tracking software that allows you to record your workout data and compare scores with other CrossFit Strong members and CrossFit competitors. The software keeps you motivated by seeing your constant improvements and weight loss.
Step 3
Eat a balanced diet of meat, vegetables, nuts, seeds and fruit. The goal is to focus on fresh vegetables and fruits, lean protein sources and healthy fats from nuts and seeds while eliminating refined foods and added sugar.
Step 4
Stay hydrated before, during and after your CrossFit workout. Your body needs water to recover after a workout and burn additional calories to reduce bodyweight.
Tips and Warnings
- Get at least six to eight hours of sleep every night. This allows your body to rebuild muscle while recovering after an intense CrossFit workout.
