Specs for a Weslo Cadence Treadmill

ICON Health & Fitness, the largest retail fitness equipment manufacturer in the world, produces Weslo Cadence treadmills. ICON also produces treadmills for brands such as Pro-Form, NordicTrack and Reebok. Weslo treadmills fall into the low-end entry-level market, with the three Cadence models, the 60 CT, G-40 and G 5.9, occupying the middle of the Weslo price range.

Motor

All three Weslo Cadence treadmills offer a 2.25-horsepower "Impulse" motor. Be wary of treadmills with motors that don't display a continuous-duty horsepower rating, as they are often not capable of sustaining the power output listed. As is common in the less-than-$500 price range, Weslo Cadence treadmills offer multiple incline settings, but you must dismount the treadmill and make the adjustments yourself instead of using push-button controls.

Speed and Treadbelt

All three Weslo Cadence machines offer push-button speed controls, with a maximum speed of 10 miles per hour. The 60 CT has a 14-inch-by-45-inch treadbelt, adequate for walking, but too cramped for all but the shortest of runners. The G-40 and G 5.9 have 16-inch-by-50-inch treadbelts, as long as those you'll find on most low-end treadmills, but still a bit narrow.

Size and Capacity

Petite size is one of the biggest selling points for bargain-priced treadmills like the Weslo Cadence line. The 60 CT is the smallest model of the Cadence models, measuring 62 inches long by 26.5 inches wide by 57 inches high. The G 5.9 measures 64.5 inches long by 29 inches wide by 55.5 inches high, and the G-40 is the largest of the lot, at 65.5 inches long by 28.4 inches wide by 53.2 inches high. All three treadmills have a 250-pound maximum user weight capacity.

Features

Weslo Cadence treadmills include a surprising number of features, considering their low prices. Features you'll find in the Cadence line include preprogrammed workouts, a 1/4-mile "RaceTrack" display, a thumb pulse monitor and a cushioned walking deck. The 60 CT also comes with a pair of dumbbells, although at 2 pounds each, the weights are so light that they will only offer a challenge for a very short time.

Price and Warranty

At the time of publication, all three Weslo Cadence treadmills are available from the manufacturer for $299. The G-40 and G 5.9 models come with a one-year motor warranty and 90 days of parts and labor coverage. The 60 CT comes with a one-year parts and labor policy.
