With a significant amount of protein and a low fat content, turkey burgers are commonly chosen over traditional beef burgers as a healthier alternative. When you are making your turkey burgers, you can add a variety of spices and other ingredients according to your personal taste. A simple recipe with ground turkey, chopped green peppers, salt and black pepper grilled to perfection is sure to be a hit with your entire family.

Step 1

Spray the grilling grates with a cooking spray to prevent the turkey burgers from sticking.

Step 2

Preheat your grill to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 3

Combine the green pepper, salt and pepper with the ground turkey in a large bowl.

Step 4

Shape the turkey burger mixture into six 1/2-inch patties.

Step 5

Grill the turkey burger patties for five minutes per side, or until lightly brown. Check the internal temperature with a meat thermometer. Turkey burgers should be cooked to an internal temperature of 165 degrees F, according to the National Turkey Federation.

Step 6

Serve the turkey burgers with hamburger buns and condiments, such as lettuce, onion, pickles and ketchup.
