Fruit is not only naturally sweet and delicious, but it's good for you too. Fruit contains an abundance of vitamins and minerals that can help you to prevent dangerous medical conditions, such as heart disease, stroke, high blood pressure, type 2 diabetes and some cancers. Almost everyone should eat at least two to three servings of fruit each day; making fresh fruit slushies is an easy and fun way to fit them in.
Step 1
Wash, remove the stems and slice one-half cup of fresh strawberries and place in a blender.
Step 2
Wash one-half cup of blueberries and add them to the strawberries.
Step 3
Core one pineapple and cut up one-half cup of chunks to add to the blender.
Step 4
Add five to seven large ice cubes to the blender.
Step 5
Cover the fruit and ice with fruit juice, such as apple or orange, or water if you prefer to save calories and sugar content.
Step 6
Place the lid on the blender and turn on high until all of the ingredients are well mixed. The slushie should be smooth and not too liquefied or thick. Add additional ice, fruit or water to reach the desired consistency.
