Eating a healthy diet and building a strong immune system can help reduce the risks of developing warts. Warts are skin growths or skin tags that can appear in various parts of the body including the genital regions. According to MayoClinic.com, warts are caused by the HPV or human papilloma virus resulting in accelerated rapid growth of cells forming the benign tissue growth and can affect both men and women. Warts can be removed by using laser treatment, cryosurgery or adopting a healthier diet.

Step 1

Eat foods rich in vitamin D and beta-carotene. Fruits, such as pumpkin, melons and mangoes can help remove or reduce the size of the warts, including genital warts. A study published in the April 2010 "Case Report of Dermatology" by researcher, Tomoko Rind, cited the successful use of vitamin D3, which is a derivative of vitamin D, as a potential treatment for removing warts. Buy organic mangoes or melons from the farmers market or whole foods stores. Wash and slice the fruits to make fresh fruit salads or add the fruits to spice up green vegetable salads.

Step 2

Drink tea or eat food that contain polyphenols, such as green or black tea. Polyphenols are natural chemicals found in certain plants that can confer antioxidant effects. Green tea contains high levels of polyphenols and can help reduce and prevent the growth of genital warts by fighting the infections caused by the human papilloma virus. Buy organic green teas from herbal stores or health food shops. Add a few tablespoons of green tea leaves into a warm teapot and let it steep for a few minutes before serving. Add sprigs of lavender flowers or leaves for added fragrance.

Step 3

Eat more garlic in your diet or apply garlic-based solutions topically to the affected area to remove or reduce the size of the warts. Clinical studies have demonstrated the potential benefits of using a garlic-based solution for removing the wart. A study in the "International Journal of Dermatology" in 2005, by researcher Dehghani F, et al, reported the successful use of garlic oil extracts on tested subjects for removing warts. Buy garlic oil extracts from health stores and add a few drops into vegetable juices or health drinks. Garlic supplements or garlic-based cooking oil can be added into the diet as alternative ways to increase garlic intake into the diet. Always consult your medical health care provider before starting any alternative supplements or diets.
