Breadsticks are a tasty treat, and if you prefer to dine in rather than out, your options are many. Preparing breadsticks from a pizza dough mix is not only doable, but tasty and fairly simple as well. If you are wanting a fun, creative way to prepare a pizza dough mix, and you are needing a treat, then making breadsticks from a mix will be right up your alley. And the result? The yeasty, garlicky smell emanating from your kitchen will make the mouths of your entire household water.

Step 1

Prepare the pizza dough per the directions on your pizza dough mix. Let the dough rest for approximately 30 minutes.

Step 2

Turn your oven on and preheat your oven to 425 degrees. Take your pizza dough ball and pull it apart into an even number of golf ball-size pieces. Roll the pieces into a small ball and set them aside on a serving platter.

Step 3

Lightly flour your hands, and take a dough ball in your hands and rub back and forth until the dough ball is shaped into a long stick, approximately 6 to 9 inches in length. Dust your pizza stone with cornmeal, and set your breadstick onto the stone. Repeat until you have made all the pizza dough into breadsticks.

Step 4

Mix your salt, garlic powder and olive oil in a bowl, and brush the garlic oil onto your breadsticks. Place the breadsticks in your preheated oven and bake at 425 degrees for approximately 15 minutes or until your breadsticks are brown and crusty.

Step 5

Remove the breadsticks from the oven and place on a serving platter. Let the breadsticks cool before eating, as they will be very hot. Serve with warmed marinara sauce for dipping.
