eDiets Programs

In 1998, eDiets released its first online diet plan in the U.S., personalizing each program to meet the dieter's weight-loss goals, along with food and cooking preferences. The business has grown, and now offers more than 20 programs, some they have developed, while others are licensed from third parties, such as Suzanne Somers, Mayo Clinic and the Slim-Fast plan.

Glycemic Impact Diet

The eDiets Glycemic Impact Diet is for sugar addicts who experience frequent mood swings and irritability, and have low energy levels. It stabilizes your blood sugar levels by including more complex carbohydrates, such as whole grains, broccoli, asparagus, brown rice and whole-wheat pasta, along with lean protein and healthy fats, such as nuts, avocados and fish, at each meal. You choose the food, so feeling deprived isn't an issue.

Bill Phillips' Eating for Life

The Bill Phillips' Eating for Life plan provides you with energy while allowing you a cheat day. Its basic principle is eating small, frequent meals you combine with exercise to achieve weight-loss success. It's about eating the right foods, in the right combination, in the right amounts at the right times. Your six meals a day are comprised of 30 percent protein, 25 percent or less of fat and carbohydrates, such as whole grains, oatmeal, fruits and vegetables, accounting for the rest. Eating frequently keeps your metabolism running, helping you burn fat consistently.

Wheat Free

If you are sensitive to wheat, the eDiets Wheat-Free plan helps you eliminate wheat-based products from your diet. In a society where wheat-free products can be difficult to find, eDiets provides you with a plan that eliminates wheat while you lose weight in the process. You are allowed three meals and one snack each day, and you can choose the foods on your plan. Some foods may contain gluten, however, a sensitivity to wheat does not mean you have a gluten allergy. Before considering this plan, undergo testing to make sure you have a sensitivity to wheat rather than a gluten allergy.

The Nutritionists

With more than 20 programs available, eDiets offers you access to credentialed nutritionists who can help you find the program that suits you best. If you have heart disease, the Heart Smart Plan may be the program for you, while the Cholesterol-Lowering Plan is an option if your doctor just diagnosed you with high cholesterol. Although eDiets offers this service, always consult your doctor before beginning any of these plans to ensure your personal safety.

Meal Delivery Plans

You can choose to have your meals prepared and delivered to your door. eDiets.com offers a five- and seven-day delivery plan. The difference between the two are the number of meals you receive. The five-day plan gives you 20 meals, while the seven-day plan provides you with 28 meals.
