The "Brazillian Butt Lift" workout was designed by Brazillian native Leandro Carvalho. Carvalho has several fitness videos on the market, one of which is the famed Brazillian butt work out program, which claims to lift and tone your posterior, hips and thighs within a few weeks. With practice, you can incorporate many of Carvalho's exercises into your own workout routine to help to improve tighten and firm the gluteal muscles in your posterior.
History
Leandro Carvalho started out as a professional dancer in Brazil and went on to complete a degree in physical education. After working for several fitness companies and developing successful fitness programs, Carvalho moved to New York and completed several personal training qualifications, including in Pilates and yoga. He then went on to develop several training programs under his name, including the "Brazillian Butt Lift" program.
Types
Carvalho conducts classes at various Equinox fitness clubs in New York. They consist of a six step series of exercises, including squat arabesques, side squats with leg lifts, straight leg lifts, scissor jumps, diamond leg lifts and capoeira squats. Speak to a certified fitness instructor about doing these exercises or tailoring a routine for you with exercises that work similar muscles. Always use proper form to avoid injury and maximize the effect of the exercises.
Frequency
As with any exercise program, consistency is key. You can tailor the program to target the particular area you have issues with by choosing the appropriate exercises, or you can use all six exercises at least three times a week. Frequent practice of the exercises, combined with 30 minutes of cardiovascular training three or four times a week, will help to lift and tone your behind within four weeks, according to an article published on the "Glamour" magazine website.
Considerations
The nature of these exercises means that a lot of pressure is put on the knees, so exercise with caution, or consult your doctor if you have knee problems before taking part in these exercises. If you experience any pain while conducting the exercise, always stop and consult a doctor. As with all exercises, it is important that you pay attention to what your body is doing. Use proper form in order to get the maximum benefit out of the exercises and avoid injury.
