Water polo games are designed to help improve your scoring ability as well as your ability to move in the pool. While many water polo games take the form of drills during practices, referees and full teams can play regulation water polo games. In addition, you can play water polo games online or on a video game console.

Passing Relay

This water polo game will improve your passing skills. Start by lining up in a straight line with two other players. Have one player line up a few feet away on either side of you. From here, have the player to your left pass the ball to you. Pass the ball to the player on the right before switching places with the player to your right. Start over again by passing the ball back to the center. You can race other players in groups of three to see who is the fastest at passing the ball.

Head Shot

This game is designed for goalies to improve their blocking ability with their heads and torsos. Have a goalie stand in front of the net. From here, stand four meters away from the goal. Fire 10 halo shots at the goalie, forcing him to block the ball only with his torso and head. Once he is finished, keep track of how many goals went through. Have all of the goalies on your team perform the drill. The player who gives up the least number of goals is the winner.

Water Polo Online

This online game is designed to keep you entertained while learning the fundamentals of water polo. Start by picking the country of your choice to play as. The computer will randomly select an opponent for you. Start by tapping the letter "K" to pass the ball from the center of the pool. Swim with your players, passing the ball back and forth, using the letter "K." Use the letter "L" on your keypad to shoot at the goal. The team with the highest score at the end of the match wins.

Red Light, Green Light

You can modify this classic childhood game to help water polo players improve their dribble drive skills. Have a group of water polo players line up on one end of the pool. With a ball in one hand, have them wait for your signal. On one whistle, have the players stop what they are doing and pick the ball up out of the water. On two whistles, the players should move as quickly as possible to the other end of the water. The first player to get within 8 meters of the goal and successfully score wins.
