A vegetable drink typically consists of the juices of several vegetables blended to create a distinctive flavor. Juicing is one way to increase the amount of vegetables in your diet, nutritionist Jennifer K. Nelson explains for MayoClinic.com. By reducing the vegetables to a liquid form, you can preserve most of the nutrients.

Step 1

Wash and cut all vegetables. The size of the cut pieces will depend on your food processor or juicer. Read the instructions provided with the product for size loads.

Step 2

Place the potatoes into the collection container and blend or juice them. Leave the skin on the potatoes when juicing. Pour the liquid into a pitcher to use later.

Step 3

Rinse the container and juice the carrots, then add them to the pitcher, on top of the potatoes.

Step 4

Stack the remaining ingredients, one on top of the other, into the juicer or food processor to liquefy.

Step 5

Mix the three layers together with a long spoon or use a blender. Add a dash of pepper and salt, if desired.

Step 6

Pour the drink into a glass and add a celery stalk to the side as a garnish.

Tips and Warnings

  • Don't be afraid to experiment with different vegetable combinations. Not every grouping will appeal to you --- keeping changing out the ingredients until you find a favorite. Some additions you might consider are apples, tomatoes and lemon juice. These will enhance the flavor. Add a dash of hot sauce to the juice to make it spicy.
