On the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 program for weight loss, you eat three 100-calorie snacks, which can be Slim-Fast snack bars or healthy food, two Slim-Fast meal replacement products and one 500-calorie meal which you prepare for yourself. You can use Slim-Fast lower-carb drinks as part of the 3-2-1 program, or as part of your own diet plan.

Slim-Fast and Shakes

Twice a day on the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 program, replace a regular meal with a Slim-Fast meal bar, ready-to-drink shake or shake mix. The 1,200-calorie daily plan is designed to help most people lose 1 to 2 lbs. per week, and you can limit your carbohydrate intake by choosing lower-carb shakes for your meal replacements. Slim-Fast lower-carb shakes come in 12 oz. ready-to-drink cans, and your choices are creamy chocolate and vanilla cream flavors.

Uses

To reduce the carbohydrates in your Slim-Fast 3-2-1 plan, choose one of the lower-carb shakes for your meal replacement instead of a regular shake or meal bar. You can use Slim-Fast lower-carb shakes even if you are not following the Slim-Fast 3-2-1 program. If you want to lose weight, drink a shake instead of having a higher-calorie meal. To gain weight, drink a shake along with your regular meal, or as an extra snack for additional calories.

Overall Nutrition

The Slim-Fast lower-carb vanilla cream shake provides 180 calories, 4 g total carbohydrate and 2 g dietary fiber, and the creamy chocolate flavor has 190 calories, 6 g total carbohydrates and 4 g fiber. Both shakes have 1 g sugar and 1 g sugar alcohol, and they provide 20 g protein, or 40 percent of the daily value. The shakes have 9 g total fat, including 1.5 g saturated fat, and they have 15 mg cholesterol, or 15 percent of the daily value.

Vitamins and Minerals

The shakes have 220 to 260 mg sodium and 550 mg potassium. They have at least 30 to 35 percent of the daily value for many vitamins and essential minerals, including thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, vitamin B-6, vitamin B-12, pantothenic acid, vitamins A and D, calcium and magnesium. They provide 100 percent of the daily value for vitamins C and E, and 25 percent of the daily value for vitamin K. Slim-Fast lower-carb shakes have 15 percent of the daily value for iron.
