When you're running out the door, breakfast may not feel like a priority. But don't deprive yourself until lunch -- grab a quick breakfast to go, so you can eat it on your way to work. Individuals who eat breakfast every morning tend to have lower cholesterol and consume more vitamins than people who skip breakfast. Breakfast may improve your concentration and keep you from heading to the vending machine before lunch.

Yogurt With Berries and Flax Seeds

Ideally, your breakfast should contain protein, fiber and complex carbohydrates. Before you go to bed the night before, sprinkle some flaxseeds and berries in a sandwich baggie, then place them in the fridge. As you're heading to work the next morning, grab a small container of yogurt, the sandwich baggie and a spoon. Open the yogurt and sprinkle the contents of the bag inside for a nutritious and quick breakfast.

Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal

You can eat a hot meal, even if you don't have time to sit down at the table. Cut up an apple and sprinkle some cinnamon on it, then place it in the refrigerator the night before. When you wake up, open a packet of plain, instant oatmeal and pour it into a portable glass container. Pour boiling water on the oatmeal, then mix in the apple and cinnamon mixture. Eat your breakfast when you get to work.

Strawberry Smoothie

Even if you only have a few minutes to prepare breakfast, you can make a portable strawberry smoothie to sip on your way out the door. Chop up a handful of strawberries and place them in a bowl. Add 1 cup of ice, 2 tbsp. wheat germ and a drizzle of yogurt. Place the bowl in the freezer overnight. The next morning, pour the contents of the bowl into a blender. Blend for two minutes, or until the mixture is smooth.

Peanut Butter and Banana Sandwich

Peanut butter is high in protein and provides a quick energy boost with minimal preparation. If you've only got a minute to make breakfast, spread approximately 1 tbsp. of peanut butter on a slice of whole-grain bread. Slice a banana and place the slices on the peanut butter, then top it with another slice of whole-grain bread. Throw the sandwich in a plastic baggie and take a bite whenever you have a free minute.
