Slow cookers make it possible for you and your family to have a hot and healthy roast beef dinner waiting when you get home from work. You simply place all the ingredients into your slow cooker in the morning and allow it to cook all day, resulting in a tender and moist roast. Most slow-cooker recipes are easy to prepare, and the versatility allows you to concoct your own recipes by adding your favorite ingredients.

Step 1

Remove your roast from the refrigerator. Take the wrapping off of it, and rinse the meat under cool running water. Place the roast in your slow cooker.

Step 2

Place the onion and garlic medium onion in your slow cooker, next to the roast.

Step 3

Pour the beef broth and cream of mushroom soup into your cooker, then stir in the contents of one packet of dry onion soup mix.

Step 4

Add the carrots and potatoes next to the meat.

Step 5

Place the lid on your slow cooker, and let the contents cook all day on medium heat.
