It's a traveler's nightmare to open her suitcase upon arriving at her destination, only to find out that her powder, mineral makeup has broken or opened, and has covered her clothes. Because a mineral makeup, such as bareMinerals, is more dense than traditional powder, it is harder to get out of clothes. Avoid the problem by packing bareMinerals carefully, so that it stays secure in your suitcase. Not only will your clothes stay clean, but you won't waste any bareMinerals and can use it at your destination.
Step 1
Unscrew the top from your pot of bareMinerals foundation. Apply a small, circular sticker to the holes of the sifter found in the top of the pot of foundation, much like the sticker that was used when you purchased your bareMinerals.
Step 2
Screw the top back on, tightening as far as you can go without cracking the lid. Wrap it carefully in two layers of bubble wrap. If you don't have bubble wrap handy, try a few scraps of a thick material, such as fleece.
Step 3
Twist a rubber band over the bubble wrap or fabric to secure it tightly. The elastic should be stretched tightly enough that the cap cannot unscrew off. The bubble wrap should protect the pot of bareMinerals from cracking through rough travel.
Step 4
Zip the foundation into a freezer bag if packing into your suitcase. Add other bareMineral products, like the bronzer or Mineral Veil, so that all of them are packed in your bags together. Add the rest of your makeup in a separate freezer bag and keep them all together.
Step 5
Place the freezer bag into a carry-on suitcase if you can. With the makeup in a carry-on, you can control how jostled it is. You may also need your makeup if you have an especially long stopover or to freshen up before the landing. If you are packing it in a suitcase that will be checked, nestle it carefully between layers of clothing to protect the plastic packaging.
