The Trek 4300 is ideal for mountain bikers who enjoy both an asphalt and off-road riding terrain. Trek equipped the 4300 with a trail-ready design that can tackle single-track and technical mountain biking trails. Trek offers the 4300 mountain bike in a variety of frame sizes to accommodate the unique physical dimensions of riders. According to Trek, the 4300 mountain bike's size is based on the length of the seat tube. The smallest 4300 frame features a 13-inch seat tube.

Step 1

Extend the measuring tape down the length of the vertical seat tube. Record the measurement to reference later. Lift your leg over the mountain bike frame and lower yourself onto the seat.

Step 2

Align your dominant foot over the corresponding pedal. Downsize the length of the seat tube if you have trouble reaching the pedals. Stretch the measuring tape across the horizontal top tube of the mountain bike frame.

Step 3

Record the measurement for future reference. Lean forward while extending your arms toward the handlebar grips. Downsize the length of the top tube if you have trouble reaching the handlebars.

Step 4

Stand over the Trek 4300 frame with your feet flat on the ground. Upgrade the frame size if you have less than 2 inches of space between your body and the top tube.
