How to Use BareMinerals Blemish Treatment

BareMinerals' RareMinerals Blemish Therapy is an addition to the BareMinerals mineral makeup lineup, and reviews from users on review site ViewPoints.com were mostly favorable, earning the product a 4.5 out of 5 stars rating. While most blemish treatments contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid and come in a cream form, the blemish treatment is powder based and contains sulfur. Because it is powder based, you'll use it slightly differently than you would a cream-based acne product.

Step 1

Wash your face well before applying the RareMinerals Blemish Therapy. Avoid using an acne wash that contains other acne medications. Combined with the ingredients found in RareMinerals Blemish Therapy, you could over-dry your skin and cause it to become irritated or flake and peel.

Step 2

Apply a light, oil-free moisturizer to your entire face. Choose a moisturizer that has a built in sunscreen for added protection. Allow the moisturizer to fully sink in before proceeding.

Step 3

Dip a concealer brush into the pot of RareMinerals Blemish Therapy and tap it into the lid to remove excess powder. Gently brush it on to cover up the affected areas of acne. The blemish treatment is for spot treatment only, so you do not need to apply to your whole face. Blend well, as you'll notice that it also helps to cover existing blemishes.

Step 4

Leave it on all night if you are applying before bedtime. RareMinerals Blemish Therapy can work as a nightly treatment for mild acne.

Step 5

Apply your regular BareMinerals makeup over top of the RareMinerals Blemish Therapy if you are leaving it on during the day. BareMinerals' blemish treatment is designed to be compatible with the rest of the BareMinerals line, so you don't need to worry about your pores becoming clogged or the makeup causing the RareMinerals Blemish Therapy to fail.
