Sysco is a distributor of Sunland peanut butter. Since 1988, Sunland has been manufacturing peanut butter from Valencia peanuts -- a peanut unique to the high plains of New Mexico and Texas. From peanut butter sandwiches, peanut butter cookies to an ingredient in protein shakes, peanut butter is a versatile and nutritious food.
Valencia Peanuts
Valencia peanuts have a natural sweetness and buttery texture. Valencia peanuts grow with three to five kernels in each shell. Although called nuts, peanuts are actually a legume -- related to peas and beans, rather than tree nuts. Unlike most legumes, peanuts grow beneath the ground.
