The largest factor that determines the weight of a bag is the material from which it is made. Leather and vinyl are much heavier than their polyester counterparts. When comparing the same type of bag, there is very little difference in the weight of men's and women's golf bags.

The circumference of a golf bag is determined by the design and by the number of pockets added to it. Cart bags are the largest and carry bags are the smallest. When comparing the same type of bag in the men's and women's models, there is very little difference.
