A classic margarita combines lime flavoring with ice and tequila. But, there are plenty of alterations that you can make to make your margarita unique and perfect for you. If you don't like lime, you can add a different flavor. If you don't enjoy blended drinks, you can serve it on the rocks. If you are trying to limit your calories, you can make a low-calorie margarita.

Classic Margarita

Step 1

Fill your blender with crushed ice. If you don't have crushed ice, blend whole ice cubes until they are crushed.

Step 2

Add the can of limeade, 6 oz. of tequila and 2 oz. of triple sec. You can use more or less tequila depending on your taste. You can leave out the tequila and triple sec if you choose not to consume alcohol.

Step 3

Blend the ice with the ingredients until everything is smooth. If the drink is too runny and you want to make it thicker, add more ice. If it is too think, add some water and blend again. If you don't want a blended drink you can stir your ingredients together and then add ice cubes without blending them. This is known as serving the drink "on the rocks." This yields four servings.

Low-Calorie Margarita

Step 1

Squeeze 1/2 cup of fresh lime juice.

Step 2

Wet the rim of your glass by running a lime wedge around it. Then sprinkle salt on a plate, turn the glass upside down and dip the rim in the salt to coat.

Step 3

Combine ½ cup lime juice, ¼ cup tequila, 1 ½ tbsp. orange-flavored liqueur and 2 ½ tbsp. superfine sugar. Add ice cubes and blend. This makes one serving.

Strawberry Margarita

Step 1

Put your ice in the blender. If your ice is not already crushed, blend it for 15 to 20 seconds.

Step 2

Add 8 oz. frozen strawberries, 6 oz. tequila, 2 oz. triple sec and 4 oz. limeade.

Step 3

Blend until everything is mixed together evenly. You can make a variety of flavors by replacing the strawberries with a fruit of your choice. This makes four servings.
