The Kona World company specializes in off-road mountain bikes used for dirt jumping and slope-style riding. Kona offers custom components that allow you to tailor the bike to your riding needs. The lightweight frame of the Kona mountain bike is constructed from aluminum and scandium alloy. Choosing a Kona frame that corresponds with your physical dimensions will enable you to maintain control of the bike. According to Kona World, the company's signature frames feature a seat tube that ranges from 14 to 22 inches in length.

Step 1

Place your dominant hand on the corresponding grip of the Kona mountain bike. Lift your opposite leg over the horizontal top tube. Spread your feet to correspond with the width of your shoulders.

Step 2

Measure the distance between your crotch and the top tube to determine the stand-over height. Choose a smaller frame if you measured less than 2 inches between your body and the top tube.

Step 3

Sit on the Kona mountain bike to determine the distance between the saddle and handlebars. Extend your hands forward to hold the handlebar grips. Choose a frame with a smaller top tube if your elbows do not have a slight bend.

Step 4

Lower your feet to the ground to determine if the seat tube length corresponds with your inseam. Select a frame with a smaller seat tube if you can't touch the ground with the tip of your toes. Adjust the seat if necessary to ensure a custom fit.
