How to Make a S'mores Cheesecake

S'mores are sweet treats long associated with warm summer and cool fall nights spent around campfires. Its is unclear who invented the first s'more, but the basic ingredients have been around since the late 19th century. You need three things to build a s'more: graham crackers, marshmallows and solid chocolate. When looking to create a distinctive cheesecake with s'more flavor, all you need to do is join the key elements with a traditional filling recipe.

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.

Step 2

Combine the softened cream cheese, marshmallow cream, sugar and vanilla extract into a mixing bowl. Beat the ingredients with a whisk or electric mixer.

Step 3

Add the all-purpose flour and eggs to the bowl and continue to beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy.

Step 4

Stir in 3/4 cup chocolate chunks. You may use milk, semisweet or dark chocolate for your cheesecake.

Step 5

Pour the cheesecake filling into the pie shell.

Step 6

Sprinkle mini-marshmallows, chopped graham crackers and the remaining chocolate chunks on top of the cheesecake.

Step 7

Bake the cheesecake in the preheated oven for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the filling is firm and moves only slightly when jiggled.

Step 8

Remove the pie from the oven.

Step 9

Store the cheesecake in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.

Tips and Warnings

  • As an alternative, you can use a chocolate cookie pie crust to enhance the flavor. If you prefer to make your own crust, mix 2 cups crushed graham crackers with 1/4 cup melted butter and 3 tbsp. brown sugar. Press the mixture into the bottom of a baking or pie pan and bake the crust in the oven until it browns, or approximately 15 minutes. If you prefer to not add the toppings to the cheesecake batter before baking, you can add the marshmallows, crackers and chocolate after baking the dessert. Place the ingredients on top of the cooked cake and use a handheld cooking torch to melt them together.
