Even the most basic snowboarding tricks can take years of practice. Avid snowboarders spend countless hours in the terrain park working on style and consistency. Challenging snowboard tricks often involve aerial flips and high-speed jumps. When practicing your advanced-level snowboarding tricks, wear a few extra layers to cushion your falls. Don a snowboard helmet to avoid concussions and head trauma.

Front-side 720

The front-side 720 is an advanced snowboarding spin that involves a 720-degree rotation. Most snowboarders prefer to learn the 720 off a large included ramp known as a booter. Approach the take-off ramp with a comfortable amount of speed. As you reach the apex of the ramp, jump vertically off your back foot while rotating your shoulders. Spin in a counterclockwise motion if you ride with your left foot in the lead position. "Transworld Snowboarding" magazine recommends grabbing the outer edge of your snowboard while executing the 720 spin.

Nose Press 180

The nose press 180 is a challenging snowboarding trick as it requires you to balance on your lead foot. Learn the nose press 180 on a terrain park obstacle known as the dance floor. The dance floor is a flattened ledge that features a wide design. Approach the dance floor ledge at a medium speed. Jump vertically over the top of the ledge. "Snowboarder" magazine recommends lowering your front shoulder while putting all your weight on your front foot. Balance on your front foot until you reach the end. Perform a quick 180-degree spin as you slide off the end of the dance floor.

180 Switch 50-50

Before you attempt the 180 switch 50-50, master the switch stance. Switch stance involves riding with your dominant foot in the lead position. Choose a beginner rail in the terrain park. Approach the rail with a comfortable speed. Jump vertically over the rail while rotating your shoulders. Lower the bottom of your snowboard onto the top of the rail after completing a 180 degree spin. Perform the switch 50-50 with your shoulders parallel to the rail.

1080 Double Cork

Only a few of the top snowboarding pros have completed a successful 1080 double cork. The double cork consists of two backwards somersaults and a 1080-degree rotation. The half pipe allows you to catch enough air to complete this difficult trick. Drop-in to the half pipe to increase your speed. Throw your shoulders back as you reach the apex of the ramp. Push off the wall to jump vertically. "The New York Times" trick library recommends grabbing the outer edge of the board while performing the 1080 double cork. Rotate your shoulders counterclockwise if you ride with your left foot forward.
