Calculate your ideal weight in kilograms using simple formulas to determine if you need to lose or gain weight or maintain your current weight for optimal health benefits. Your height and gender are factors that help determine your ideal body weight. If you are more than 9 kilograms above or below your ideal weight, discuss it with your doctor to determine the best course of action.

Step 1

Determine your height in inches with a tape measure.

Step 2

Subtract 60 inches from your height. For example, if you are 65 inches tall, subtract 60 inches from 65 for a total of 5 inches.

Step 3

Multiply the result by 5 and add 100 if you are a female. For example, if you are a 65-inch tall female, multiply 5 by 5 for a sum of 25. Add 100 for a total of 125 lbs. This is your ideal weight in pounds. For a male, multiply the result by 6. Add the sum to 106. This is your ideal weight in pounds.

Step 4

Divide your ideal weight in pounds by 2.2. The resulting figure is your ideal weight in kilograms. For example, if your ideal weight in pounds is 125 lbs., multiply 125 by 2.2 for a sum of 56.81 kilograms.
