It's a false assumption that you need to buy into some expensive food program to lose weight. In fact, you can quickly shed pounds just by using the products that you find at a regular supermarket. All you need is an understanding of the foods that encourage weight loss and how to incorporate them into your diet for maximum effect.
Step 1
Drink at least eight 8 oz. glasses of water every day. Getting enough water keeps your system hydrated and your digestive system expelling waste as it should. It also encourages your metabolism to burn fat faster.
Step 2
Add a serving of vegetables to every meal. They can be steamed, boiled or cooked along with your oven-baked chicken. Just so long as you add a serving of vegetables to each meal, you'll get the nutrition you need and fill up your stomach faster so you're eating more fiber and less foods that keep on the pounds.
Step 3
Swap out refined flour products for whole grains. Toss out any food that contains simple carbohydrates or refined sugars like white bread, pasta or sugar and replace them with whole-grain breads and pastas. These foods are less likely to cause bloating and to be stored as fat and will add fewer calories to your daily intake.
Step 4
Satisfy your hunger without adding calories to your diet by eating fruit as a snack. Since it's mostly water, you won't add any fat but will still get a nutritional benefit from it.
Step 5
Eat low-fat yogurt. Yogurt will add some calories to your daily intake, but it offers numerous health benefits, especially since it's high in active cultures or bacteria that keep the digestive system healthy. A healthy digestive system results in a faster metabolism and more effective fat burning.
