5 Things You Need to Know About Jenny Craig
1. Jenny's Proven Herself
When joining a weight loss program, you want to pick a plan that has a strong rate of success. With Jenny Craig, you can rest assured that the program has many satisfied dieters. Jenny Craig launched in the U.S. in 1985 and has experienced steady growth over the years. Throughout the U.S. and Europe, you can find more than 600 Jenny Craig weight loss centers. The centers employ highly trained nutritional and weight loss specialists.
2. Reduce Kitchen Time
The foundation of the Jenny Craig weight loss program is the prepackaged Jenny Craig food. Options include breakfast, lunch, dinner and dessert selections that are low in fat and sugar. Frozen breakfast foods made by Jenny Craig include egg scramble, pancakes with sausage and French toast. For lunch, you can have spinach and cheese tortellini, chicken strip medley or beef chow mein. Frozen Jenny Craig dinners include Cajun style chicken, BBQ chicken pizza and beef stroganoff. All of the frozen food entrees are prepared in your microwave.
3. Jenny Craig Gives You a Goal
Jenny Craig doesn't want you to eat their frozen food entrees for the rest of your life. The Jenny Craig program goal is to get you to change your habits by eating their frozen food options. You eventually wean yourself off their foods and replace them with fresh and healthy food options. While on the Jenny Craig weight loss program, you learn how to prepare meals that include fruits, vegetables, whole grains and low-fat dairy products.
4. You Still Have to Count Calories
Jenny Craig participants work with a weight loss counselor to design a menu that can help them lose weight. The counselor takes your height, current weight and goal weight to come up with the number of calories you can eat on a daily basis in order to reach that goal. You won't have to cut out any foods, but you do have to limit the foods in order to stick to your caloric restrictions.
5. Skip the Meetings
Many people are turned off by programs like Jenny Craig because they don't want to attend weekly weigh-ins and meetings with their weight loss counselors. Although you do have this option with Jenny Craig, it's not mandatory. Instead of going to a center, all of the menus and information needed to complete Jenny Craig can be sent to your home. Additionally, you can access their weight loss tools through their website or the Jenny Craig hotline.

Friends-
I have been on Jenny since April of 2004 and it is one of the best things I have ever done! I was a busy exec rotting form the inside out and my wife says to me," I don't want you to die when you're 55". Lost 27 pounds in about a year and started hitting the gym hard in late 2006 and lost another 15. I supplement Jenny with protein shakes due to the weights etc. It is a great program all you need is some discipline/ determination and Jenny works. GOOD LUCK!!!!
