How to Hide Wrinkles Around Eyes

Aging, smoking, drinking and the environment all create havoc on our skin. With aging of the skin comes--you guessed it--wrinkles. Those dreaded lines and creases at the corners of your mouth and eyes. Wrinkles at the outer corners of your eyes are also referred to as crow's feet. Although you can't fully hide them, there are some steps to make them stand out less and your eyes themselves, sparkle more.

Step 1

Apply a collagen filler, available at most pharmacies. Collagen fillers can be worn under makeup to hide or reduce the appearance of wrinkles by plumping the skin, giving it a smoother texture. Or, apply an eye-brightening cream before applying makeup. This will give shimmer to the skin around the eyes, and reduce puffiness, making wrinkles appear smaller and less noticeable throughout the day.

Step 2

Apply aloe vera gel to combat and reduce the visibility of eye wrinkles. It soothes the skin and reduces swelling, hiding deeper set wrinkles and minimizing the appearance of finer lines.

Step 3

Wear a cream concealer instead of powder. Powder make up will settle into the lines around your eyes, making them look more defined and deeper. A light, oil-free cream concealer will lighten the area and make your wrinkles less noticeable. Wearing less eyeshadow and brighter lip colors will take the focus off your eyes, making the wrinkles less noticeable.

Step 4

Get microdermabrasion treatments or exfoliate at home. Removing dead skin cells will help promote healthier new skin cells to develop and reduce wrinkle visibility. If you opt for at-home exfoliation, use gentle motions around the sensitive areas around your eyes. After exfoliation, use a good moisturizer to promote softer skin.

Step 5

Apply sunscreen and sunglasses when outside. Sun damage causes skin to age prematurely and the UV rays are not good for your corneas either. The sunscreen will prevent further wrinkling of the eye area and the sunglasses will hide wrinkles.
