While no magic cream can make cellulite completely disappear from your body, the right workout can go a long way toward making those dreaded dimples and bumps much less noticeable. Though people often think cellulite is a sign of extra pounds, it's actually an indication that your lymph system isn't working as effectively as it should to move fluids through your body, explains Atma JoAnn Levitt, head of the integrative weight-loss program at the Kripalu Center for Yoga and Health in Lenox, Mass., in "Women's Health" magazine. Exercise can stimulate lymph movement to temporarily smooth away lumps.
Shoulder Stands
Step 1
Lie flat on your back with your arms at your sides and your knees slightly bent.
Step 2
Rock your legs forward so that your knees touch your forehead. Support your hips by placing your hands below them, keeping your elbows on the floor. Hold for eight to 10 seconds, breathing normally.
Step 3
Roll your body slowly back to its starting position.
Step 4
Repeat every other day.
Backwards Lunge
Step 1
Stand up straight with your shoulders back and your legs hip's width apart. Hold a medium-weight dumbbell in each hand and let your arms fall naturally at your sides.
Step 2
Lunge behind you with your left foot, bending both knees at right angles so that your right knee is pointing straight ahead and your left knee is pointing at the floor. Hold for a count of one.
Step 3
Return to your starting position and repeat the move, lunging with your right foot this time.
Step 4
Repeat 10 to 15 times with each leg.
