Dream Protein is a high protein supplement that comes in powdered form. It is made from whey protein isolate, a dairy-based protein that is low in carbohydrates and fat. Dream Protein is low in lactose and contains no sugar or artificial sweeteners. Because of the high protein content, Dream Protein may aid in supporting your athletic endeavors and attempts to enhance your body composition. Consult a doctor prior to using Dream Protein or any other supplements.

Calories

Dream Protein is low in calories, with each 24 g scoop containing only 86 calories or only 4 percent of the total daily suggested intake of 2,000. This amount is less than many other sources of protein, such as a 4 oz. grilled chicken breast, which contains 142 calories. If you want to lose weight while consuming Dream Protein, you can burn off the calories of one serving via 24 minutes of weightlifting or 18 minutes of bicycling.

Fat

Dream Protein does not contain any fat, which is one reason why the calorie content is low --- fat adds nine calories per gram. Although the lack of fat is beneficial from a calorie counting standpoint, research from the October 2003 issue of the nutrition journal "Gut" indicates that consuming protein with omega-3 fats can enhance muscle retention and growth. Thus, you may wish to consume your Dream Protein with a source of omega-3 fats, such as a fish oil supplement.

Protein

Dream Protein contains 20 g of protein in each 24 g scoop, or 40 percent of the recommended daily intake. Although, some research suggests that prioritizing protein in your diet can be beneficial for changing your body composition, a study published in the October 2009 issue of "Nutrition, Metabolism and Cardiovascular Diseases" suggests that high-protein diets can help reduce body weight and fat more than diets lower in protein.

Carbohydrates

Dream Protein is low in carbohydrates, with 3.4 g in each 24 g serving. Although carbs provide your body with energy, the lack of them in this supplement makes it flexible enough to fit into a low carbohydrate diet. However, if you are consuming Dream Protein to enhance muscle growth, you should drink your Dream Protein shakes with some form of carbohydrates: Research from the December 2010 of the "International Journal of Sport Nutrition and Exercise Metabolism" suggests that consuming a combination of protein and carbohydrates shortly after exercise can help promote recovery if you exercise on consecutive days.
