White-chocolate syrup is a popular flavor because of its rich taste. The flavor profile tastes like vanilla and white chocolate. Although prized for its creamy flavor, white-chocolate syrup usually contains a high amount of sugars and carbohydrates. Compare different white-chocolate syrups to find a healthy one for use in your favorite drinks and desserts.

Definition

White chocolate has a mild and creamy flavor compared to dark chocolate. White-chocolate bars are made from cocoa butter instead of cocoa beans. Each manufacturer uses different flavorings to create its white-chocolate syrups.

Many brands of sugar-free or all-natural white-chocolate syrup are available for sale: some brands of white-chocolate syrup use European-style recipes. Many people prefer the taste and ingredients used in a particular brand.

Syrup Uses

White-chocolate syrup is used in variety of desserts and drinks. Many popular iced and hot coffee drinks use white-chocolate syrup as a flavoring agent. This syrup is often used in both hot and iced white-chocolate mochas, lattes, cappuccinos, smoothies, Italian sodas, boba teas and even milkshakes. You can also use white-chocolate syrup as a sweet flavoring when baking cakes and cupcakes.

Sugar-Free Syrups

If you are on a special diet that restricts carbohydrates or sugars, sugar-free white chocolate syrups can be an allowable treat. Most syrup manufacturers use artificial sweeteners for their sugar-free syrups. These sugar-free syrups also are good for low-calorie diets, since they often have zero calories. However, most of the flavorings and sweeteners are highly processed.

All-Natural Syrups

If you want to avoid preservatives and high-fructose corn syrup, some famous brands of white-chocolate syrup use only natural flavorings and no preservatives. Common ingredients include: cane sugar, white-chocolate flavor and water. Although these all-natural white-chocolate syrups use all natural ingredients, they may still be high in sugars and calories.

Homemade Syrups

You can also make homemade white-chocolate syrup from scratch. By making the syrup yourself, you control the ingredients and amount of sugar or spices used. One recipe on chocolatesyrup.net uses wholesome ingredients like a chopped white-chocolate bar, cane sugar, water, sea salt, vanilla, cinnamon and other sweet spices.

Combine all the ingredients in a pot and turn the stove temperature to "Medium" heat. Slowly melt and stir the ingredients into velvety white-chocolate syrup. Since this rich syrup is quite thick, you can use it for a dessert topping or dipping sauce, as well as an accent flavor for hot and cold drinks.
