Colon cleansing--which is also referred to as colonic irrigation--is the removal of toxins, excess waste and impurities from the bowel. Natural colon cleansing uses herbs combined with diet, to cleanse the colon of harmful toxins. Colon cleansing can be done at home with special diet and herbs or by a professional. Regular colon cleansing can ease digestive problems and constipation.
Instructions
Step 1
Eat a diet high fiber to prevent constipation. To increase your fiber intake, replace foods high in fat and sodium with fruits, vegetables, and whole grains. Dietary fiber will solidify and soften the stool, making it easier to pass.
Step 2
Use an enema to remove waste and toxins from the colon. The enema will not clean the entire colon, only help to remove waste and toxins from the lower intestines. The three types of enemas commonly used are clay, coffee and water.
Step 3
Mix one tablespoon of ground flax seeds with a glass of water. Drink this mixture in the morning, 30 minutes before eating and before bed. Flax seeds allow toxins to be removed by expanding the colon and absorbing water.
Step 4
Take wheat grass supplements daily. Wheat grass aids in removing waste, and it kills harmful bacteria in the digestive system.
Step 5
Take probiotic supplements to replenish the good bacteria that can be washed away during the colon cleanse. Probiotics can also be found in foods such as yogurt and miso.
Tips and Warnings
- Wheat grass supplements come in both pill and liquid. Liquid can be added to water or used to make smoothies.
