If you have shaky muscles during exercise, it is actually a good sign. It means that you are working the muscles and improving strength and endurance. Although shaking muscles are not a sign of a serious medical condition, you may experience muscle soreness after the workout. As your body grows accustomed to your workouts, the incidences of shakiness should diminish.

Features

The shakiness in the muscles is likely to be caused by electrical impulses sent to the receptors in the muscles. During contraction, the receptors may receive both signals for the muscles to relax and for the muscles to contract simultaneously. The overlap will cause the quivering you feel during exercise.

Effects

According to "Scientific American" magazine, the shakiness may continue to worsen as your exercise routine intensifies. The synthesis of certain chemicals is required for the contraction and relaxing signals to be sent to your muscles. As chemical stores are depleted during exercise, the signals may be sent at a slower rate to your muscles and result in shakiness.

Considerations

The shaky muscles are more likely to occur when you are participating in challenging forms of exercise. The mixed signals sent to the receptors typically occur when your body has become fatigued. The muscle shakiness may take place when you are lifting heavy weights or doing a high number of reps using resistance. High-intensity forms of exercise may also cause you to experience shaky muscles.

Potential

Shakiness in the muscles during exercise is not likely to last for a prolonged period of time. As soon as you rest after your workout session is complete, symptoms should begin to subside. Also, the more accustomed your body becomes to your workout routine, the fewer incidences of muscle shakiness you will experience. In the meantime, you may want to consider lowering your intensity level slightly to avoid the muscle shakiness.
