Pasta is one of those dishes that make great leftovers, whether it is smothered in sauce or not. If you like to eat healthy foods but find that you're often short on time, consider making a large pot of pasta on the weekend and enjoying it for several days after. You can easily reheat pasta that's already been cooked through a number of different methods, including boiling, sautéing and microwaving.
Plain Pasta
Step 1
Bring a medium-size pot of water to a boil over high heat on the stove.
Step 2
Place the pasta into a strainer.
Step 3
Submerge the strainer with the pasta in the boiling water. Placing the pasta in the strainer first makes for easy draining when the pasta is heated.
Step 4
Cook the pasta in the boiling water for 30 to 60 seconds, depending on the amount that you are cooking.
Step 5
Lift the strainer out of the water when the pasta is hot. Serve immediately.
Pasta with Sauce
Step 1
Place pasta that has already been mixed with sauce in a casserole dish and cover with aluminum foil. Put the dish in an oven that has been heated to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cook for 15 to 20 minutes, or until hot.
Step 2
Pour 1 tbsp. of olive oil into a skillet and sauté the pasta and sauce. Stir with a wooden spoon or spatula while cooking. Sauté over medium heat for three to five minutes or until the pasta and sauce have been heated through.
Step 3
Put the pasta and sauce into a microwavable-safe dish. Cover the dish with a paper towel or wax paper and cook for 30 to 60 seconds.
