Hip Hop Abs is a dance-aerobics workout program developed by fitness professional, Shaun T. The DVDs cost $60.00 and include four workouts plus a nutrition guide and calendar to keep track of your progress. This program is for losing weight and getting lean. You don't have to be in top shape to start using Hip Hop Abs -- and the nutrition guide is a bonus because diet is important for staying lean and keeping your stomach flat.
Sexy Beach Abs
Sexy Beach Abs is an 11 minute video by personal trainer Marco Reed. You can watch this video for free on Exercise.tv or download it for $1.99. Sexy Beach Abs develops a strong core and building abdominal muscle. This program doesn't burn lots of calories -- but if you're fairly lean and you just want to sculpt a more well-defined mid-section, Sexy Beach Abs is an alternative to more expensive videos.
Insanity
Insanity is a 60-day body-transformation program also by Shaun T. It includes 10 workouts on 10 DVDs, plus a nutrition guide. The program cost $120.00. Insanity uses high intensity interval training, or HIIT, to burn the most calories and fat in the shortest amount of time, as well as build muscle. It is a hard program to follow and you need to be in moderate shape to get through the workouts.
P90X
P90X is a 90-day program developed by elite trainer Tony Horton. The program cost the same as Insanity and includes 12 workouts and a nutrition guide. This program requires the most commitment -- you have to follow it for 90 days and also invest in dumbbells/resistance bands and a pullup bar to do the workouts correctly. P90X is based on muscle confusion, so the workouts are constantly changing.
