When looking for a multivitamin, many people choose those that have certain levels of vitamins A, C, E and D. What many people overlook is the lesser-known vitamin K. While it is not as popular as some of the other vitamins, it does play an important role in your body's everyday functions. Several brands of multiple vitamins have higher levels of vitamin K in them. Always consult your physician before taking supplements, and do not give adult vitamins to children.

Available with or without iron, this multivitamin is complete with 25 mcg of vitamin K per serving. This meets 31 percent of your daily recommended value. Free of any wheat products or artificial flavorings, this multivitamin uses one tablet for each daily serving. If you have allergies, it is important to know that multivitamin does contain milk and soy ingredients.

Nature's Way Alive! Women's Multivitamin and Mineral

This multivitamin contains 100 mcg of vitamin K, which translates to 125 percent of your daily recommended value. The daily dosage is three tablets, which are advertised as being derived from raw foods. These tablets do not contain milk, sugar, lactose or yeast. This multivitamin is also considered vegetarian-friendly.

Solaray Spectro Multivitamin

With 50 mcg of vitamin K, this multivitamin meets 63 percent of your daily recommended intake value. To meet this, six capsules must be consumed. While the producers recommend taking up to six capsules per day, this can depend on personal dietary requirements. This product also contains royal jelly and should be avoided by those who react to bee products.

What Vitamin K Does

According to the National Institutes of Health, vitamin K, "helps your body by making proteins for healthy bones and tissues." Your body can produce vitamin K through natural bacteria in the digestive tract, but it also absorbs it through green vegetables and dark-colored berries. Without enough vitamin K, the body also has difficulty with blood clotting. Although most healthy adults do not have vitamin K deficiencies, the University of Florida IFAS Extension mentions that a deficiency is possible for people with certain medical conditions or prolonged antibiotic therapies.
